SLVP Objectives & Activities

Travel Services:

1. To encourage and provide business as package tour operators, daily passenger service operators, tour operators, travel agents, ship booking agents, railway ticket booking agents, airline ticket booking agents, carrier service agents, courier service agents, hotel and accommodation reservation and supply agents, and tourism-based adventure activities agent. Additionally, provide services for visa and travel insurance arrangements, transportation to and from airports, and arranging local sightseeing tours.
2. To carry on the business of running taxis, buses, minibusses, trucks, and conveyances of all kinds and to transport passengers, goods, commodities, livestock, and merchandise. Also, offer services as transporters, forwarding and transporting agents, stevedores, Carmen, wharfingers, cargo superintendents, package handlers, carting agents, and courier service agents.
3. To carry on the business as tourist agents and contractors to facilitate traveling and to provide for tourists and travelers, the provision of convenience of all kinds. This includes tickets, sleeper cars or berths, reserved places, hotels, motels and lodging, accommodation guidance, safe deposits, inquiry bureaus, libraries, reading rooms, baggage transport, and other allied services. Additionally, offer services for arranging adventure sports, cultural tours, and medical tourism.
4. To act as Money Changers to provide services that may be necessary for the achievement of the aforesaid objects. This includes providing foreign exchange services and money transfer services.
5. To carry on the Business of distributing locally or exporting any kind of products, commodities, and ingredients. Additionally, offer services for sourcing and supplying products, logistics and transportation services, and customs clearance.
6. Take over and manage existing hotels and sell, construct, purchase, acquire, lease, take on lease, run, and maintain hotels, motels, restaurants, canteens, cafeterias, travelers’ lodges, mansions, guest houses, and other places for the purpose of boarding, lodging and stay of tourists. Additionally, offer services for event management, banqueting, and catering.
7. Establish and manage transport units, travel and transport counters; import, purchase, lease, sell, and run or otherwise operate cars, cabs, buses, coaches, trucks, launches, ropeways, aircraft, helicopters, and other modes of transport. Additionally, offer services for fleet management, vehicle maintenance, and repair.
8. Produce, distribute, and sell tourist publicity material, edit, design, print, publish, sell or otherwise deal with books, magazines, periodicals, folders, inserts, guide maps, pamphlets, bills, posters, picture postcards, diaries, calendars, slides, cinematograph films, and other material for the purpose of giving publicity to and developing tourism. Additionally, offer services for digital marketing, social media management, and content creation.
9. Provide entertainment by way of cultural shows, dances, music concerts, cabarets, ballets, film shows, sports, and games, and others. Additionally, offer services for arranging events, concerts, and festivals.
10. Provide shopping facilities to tourists, establish and manage shops, including duty-free shops, bazars, emporia, and other places for selling travel requisites and other articles of tourist interest. Additionally, offer services for online shopping and e-commerce.
11. The company shall carry out all kinds of business transactions allowed under the law of the land and also in accordance with the company act. Additionally, offer services for legal and financial consultancy, audit and taxation services, and HR management.

Education Services:

1. Conduct foreign volunteer programs to support local children with their education, sports, skill development, and personal development, environmental education.
2. Conduct, facilitate, and host internship programs for international and foreign university students.
3. Conduct sports coaching, Teaching Music, dancing, and other recreational skill development programs with the support of local and international volunteers and experts.
4. Offer language courses and cultural exchange programs through international volunteer programs.
5. Provide educational travel programs and study-abroad opportunities
6. Develop and provide educational materials and resources.
7. Provide educational scholarships and sponsorships
8. Offer educational consultancy services.
9. Offer education, training, and skill development programs for local communities including children with special needs, and orphaned children with the support of international and local volunteers.
10. Provide vocational training and skills development programs with the support of international and local volunteers, organizations, and agencies.
11. Offer career counseling and job placement services and consultancy.
12. Conduct International cultural exchange programs, language immersion programs, study abroad programs, and international and local volunteer programs.
13. Conduct and provide support for education and training programs for tour guides, hospitality staff, and other related professions with the support of international and local experts and professionals.
14. Provide language courses for tourists and locals with the support of local and foreign experts and native speakers.
15. Conduct educational tours and field trips for schools and universities.
16. Scholarships and grants for underprivileged students.
17. Provide financial and material aid for those educational entities, children, and communities including its members to develop, and enhance the quality of education.
18. Vocational training programs and workshops for community members with the support of international and local volunteers and professionals.
19. Tutoring and mentoring programs for local students with the support of foreign and local volunteers.
20. Supporting teachers in underserved communities through volunteer teaching programs.
21. Education and resources on environmental conservation and sustainability.
22. Conduct, host, and facilitate education and educational promotion programs and exhibitions.
23. Provide any other services that are required to develop, assist, help, and enhance education in Sri Lanka.

Environmental and Wildlife Conservation Services:

1. Promote and support sustainable tourism practices
2. Develop and implement environmental and wildlife protection programs with the support of international and local volunteers and experts/ professionals/ organizations/ agencies.
3. Offer eco-tourism activities and tours.
4. Provide and support waste management and recycling services.
5. Support for conservation and restoration services for natural habitats and wildlife with the support of foreign and local volunteers, organizations and agencies.
6. Support and implement renewable energy initiatives.

Poverty Elevation, Social and Community Development Services:

1. Offer community development programs and initiatives with the support of international and local volunteers, organizations, institutes, etc.
2. Provide support for child care and elderly care and assistance with the support of foreign and local volunteers and organizations.
3. Provide support for micro-enterprises and small businesses.
4. Offer financial and business consultancy services.
5. Provide healthcare services and support healthcare service with the support of international volunteers and organizations, individuals, etc.
6. Support rural housing and infrastructure development programs.
7. Provide disaster relief and emergency response services.
8. Offer support for orphaned and vulnerable children with the support of international and local community.
9. Offer support for women and girls empowerment programs with the support of the international and community.
10. Offer counseling and mental health support services.
