Day 1

Negombo
Upon your arrival at the Colombo International Airport, your chauffeur guide will welcome you and transfer you to Negombo for your first night's stay. Negombo is a major tourist destination in Sri Lanka, known for its luxury tropical lifestyle and easy access to the airport and Colombo city. You can explore the Dutch fort built in 1672, centuries-old Portuguese and Dutch houses, administrative buildings, churches, and the ceiling frescoes of St. Mary’s Cathedral. You can also visit the second-largest fish market in the country, locally famous as the "Lellama," at the north end of the town's lagoon. Suggested Activities:
  • Visit the vibrant Fish Market.
  • Relax on the beach.
  • Visit Muthurajawela Bird Sanctuary (Optional).
  • Enjoy an evening boat ride in Hamilton Canal and the lagoon (Optional).
  • Go on an evening walk to explore the vibrant locality.

Day 2

Habarana | Minneriya National Park
After breakfast at the hotel in Negombo, you'll proceed to Habarana, a small town located in the heart of the cultural triangle. Upon arrival, you'll check in at your hotel and freshen up. Later in the afternoon, you'll visit the famous Minneriya National Park for an evening safari. Minneriya National Park is famous for its large herds of Asian elephants that gather around the Minneriya tank during the dry season. In addition to elephants, you'll also have the chance to spot other wildlife such as deer, wild boars, water buffaloes, and various bird species. After the safari, return to your hotel in Habarana. Program of the Day:
  • After breakfast check out of your hotel and leave for Habarana.
  • Embark on an evening safari at Minneriya National Park.
  • Pamper yourself with a soothing Ayurvedic Herbal massage to find pure relaxation (Optional).
  • Return to your hotel, relax, and unwind.

Day 3

Anuradhapura Sacred City
After a delightful breakfast at the hotel, our tour commences with a visit to the revered ancient city of Anuradhapura. This UNESCO World Heritage site holds immense historical and religious significance in Sri Lanka. Serving as the country's initial capital, Anuradhapura is adorned with prominent Buddhist temples and monasteries. Marvel at the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi tree, said to have sprouted from a sapling of the Bodhi tree beneath which the Buddha attained enlightenment in Bodhgaya, India. Explore the enchanting ruins of this ancient city, including the magnificent Ruwanwelisaya stupa and the awe-inspiring Abhayagiri monastery complex. Once we conclude our exploration, return to the hotel in Habarana. Program of the Day:
  • Cycle or drive around the sacred city of Anuradhapura.
  • Learn the way of life of Sri Lankans.
  • Learn about Sri Lanka's history, culture, and heritage.

Day 4

Sigiriya Rock Fortress | Polonnaruwa Ancient City
In the morning, after breakfast, you will head to Sigiriya, a UNESCO World Heritage. Sigiriya is a fascinating fortress located atop a massive 200-meter-high rock, with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The rock fortress was built in the 5th century and is popular for its impressive frescoes, landscaped gardens, and intricate water management system. You will climb up the rock to explore the ruins of the palace and enjoy panoramic views from the top. After visiting Sigiriya, you will head to Polonnaruwa, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was the second capital of Sri Lanka after the fall of Anuradhapura. Polonnaruwa is home to some of Sri Lanka's finest ancient ruins, including the Royal Palace, the Gal Vihara with its stunning Buddha statues, and the massive circular relic chamber “Vatadage”. On completion, return to your hotel in Habarana and relax for the evening. Program of the Day:
  • Climb Sigiriya (Lion Rock) Rock Fortress.
  • Visit Polonnaruwa ancient city.

Day 5

Dambulla | Kandy
After a satisfying breakfast, you will embark on a journey to the city of Kandy, the country's last royal capital and cultural capital. En route, prepare to be enthralled by a visit to another distinguished UNESCO World Heritage Site, Dambulla Cave Temples. Immerse yourself in their splendor and let their magnificence captivate you. These five cave temples resemble an art gallery, adorned with murals and exquisite Buddha statues dating back to the 17th and 20th centuries CE. As evening descends, embrace the spiritual aura of the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy, another revered UNESCO World Heritage site. This significant Buddhist temple safeguards a sacred tooth relic of the Buddha, and within its walls, you can experience the tranquility and reverence of this sacred place, witness the rituals, and gain insights into the way of life of the Buddhists. Rest peacefully overnight in Kandy, cherishing the memories of the day and anticipating the wonders yet to be explored. Program of the Day:
  • Transfer to Kandy and en route, visit Dambulla cave temples.
  • Visit a spice garden in Matale and learn about the spices and herbs of Sri Lanka.
  • Upon arrival in Kandy, wander around and indulge in shopping for exquisite souvenirs.
  • Watch a captivating vibrant Kandyan traditional cultural dance performance.
  • Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha in the evening and witness the daily rituals.

Departure
